The Holocaust
During the Holocaust, a man named Adolf Hitler was the general of the German army also known as the Nazis. Hilter went into Jewish town and captured all of the Jewish people. He then sent hem off to concentration camps in Germany. Hitler had a thing against all Jews. Hitler striked against England, France, Poland, and Russia durig World War II. Hitler was working with Stalin from Russia and Mussolini from Italy. Hilter's Colonel General von Bravchitsch promised Hilter to bring the war against poland to a close within a few weeks. Hiter made the Polish people go on death marches. And when the people went on these death marches the majority of them died before they even got to Auschwitz. Hitler was very satisfied with what he did to all the people during this time. He then later committed suicide.

My life during the Great Depression is hard. It's hard having two little boys who don't understand what is going. We have to move all the time with them. I am trying to make a better life for my sons during all this it's hard. We have to constantly pack up the truck and go to fing somewhere that has work. Most places we go to find work doean't have work for us or anyone else. And I hate to not be able to feed and clothe my children. I want my boys to be happy and when they see me not happy I tend to realize that my older son can see that. He may be older than his brother but he still doesn't completely understand what is going on. It's hard to explain it to the both of them. Especially the little one. The Depression was a very trying time not just for me but for everyone else too. Work was mostly out of the question for me and many others. It was a very hard time.

Big Businesses in the 1800s
Businesses were a big part in the production of many things in the 1800s. The steel industry was growing to a great extent when the railroad building kept on growing. Andrew Carnegie made the production of steel more efficient when he created the Bessmer Process. He built the Carnegie Steel Company into the largest and most successful steel company ing the world. His new way of making steel more efficient helped with other companies building railroads, skyscapers, and bridges. He was very successful with his business in the 1800s.
Immigration
Immigration grew to a high number in the 1800s. After immigrants started to come to America the U.S. population grew to 31.5 million people. Between 1865 to 1920 close to 30 million people immigranted to the United States. These people had dreams of becoming rich, free land through the Homestead Act, they had religious discrimination back at home, and for personal freedoms. The European immigrants had mostly entered through Ellis Island, they then moved to areas with others from thier home counrty, these places were like the ghetto, and they faced discrimination from the whites. The Asian immigrants moved to the west coast, they entered through Angel Island, many of them were brought to work on the railroads, they also faced discrimination, and they had the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882. The Asian were great forr working on the railroads.
Inventions
There were many inventors in the 1800s. One of the inventors of that time was Andrew Carnegie, he invented the Bessmer Process which made steel stronger and cheaper to make. And after making this it helped with the production of bridges, skyscapers, and railroads. The way he did business was through the vertical integration which is owning all the parts of the rocess. Another inventor of that time was John Rockefeller, he worked with the oil industry. His way of business was horizontal integration which was owning all of the industry or as much as you could. Thomas Edison invented electricity and the light bulb. Westinghouse invented alternating current, transformer, and he also improved electricity. Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone which helped businesses grow.

Living Conditions
During the 1800s, the people had horrible living conditions. They had to live in crowded apartments with a bed in every room even the kitchen. The people were brought to the country to work in the factories and they thought they were going to live in great houses but they were put in crowded apartments with a lot of people. They had to live with many people some they didn't even know. The people were also treated horribly.
Working in the 1800s
The working conditions in the 1800s were not very good. The people had long hours that were like 56 hours long. Some of the things they had to use in a factory called the "Triangle Factory" were sewing machines, shirtmakers, bobbins, and piles of cloth crowded in this factory. And the people had to sit very close together in the factories.
